Monsters round one

Have some monster concepts/microfictions. Probably don’t read if you’re squeamish.

It has the ability to morph its own flesh and bone into blades. Not its hands or extremities, the core and main flesh of its arms and legs, sending them out on tendrils as little whirling razor blades of death made of gore and skeletal matter. (inspired by somebody else’s idea)

It can create shadowy duplicates of its foes… or prey. They don’t move quite right, don’t sound quite right, don’t feel quite right, but they look and feel the same as whoever they mirror. Do not get close, should these doppelgangers come into contact with that which they echo, they will pull the very life out of their original’s body.

The thing… sings. Its haunting music drifts through the halls and corridors, worming its way into the minds of whoever can hear. Anyone who listens for too long becomes angry, aggressive, losing their control until they fall into an incurable, insatiable bloodlust and turn on those around them.

We call it the Gallow, almost like a bird or bat in the dead of night that swoops down on those caught unaware. Black, slimy, leathery nooses drape down from its wings, that loops over its victim’s neck before they’re strung up in the nearest pole or tree, their neck not only broken but crushed. We learned to cut them down after the Hanged Men came back, pulling themselves off their perches the next night, new nooses hung from their arms, to do the same to others inside the buildings the Gallow can’t enter.

Object’s most notable ability is to target a location with a sort of hole that pulls in things that are further away. Anyone or anything too close and pulled in is trapped in a small pocket dimension, before being ejected in a violent explosion, crushed into unrecognizable paste/dust. Upon using appropriate equipment to learn why remains are only accompanied by an explosion if something living is absorbed, it was discovered that victims are crushed slowly and tortuously, the explosion fueled by the generated pain and terror instead of any physical force. Destroy on sight.
